Getting to the root of Chronic Illness…

What do obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, depression and anxiety, many forms of cancer, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, thyroid and adrenal dysfunction, PCOS, Alzheimer’s disease, fibromyalgia, and many other chronic illnesses all have in common?

They are largely preventable and in many cases reversible…

Preventable? Even reversible? That’s a pretty exciting thought isn’t it?

What’s even more interesting is that nearly all of these preventable and often reversible chronic illnesses are caused by a very short list of well known lifestyle factors:

  1. Poor diet and nutrition

  2. Lack of movement and exercise

  3. Lack of quality sleep

  4. High levels of stress and /or poor stress management

Take type 2 diabetes for instance.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that about 1/2 of all American adults have type 2 diabetes or pre diabetes, meaning they will be a type 2 diabetic sometime in the next 5 years.

And yet, with targeted lifestyle changes to nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management type 2 diabetes is not only preventable, but 100% reversible.

At the Chronic Health Club, our mission is to provide the place, the tools, the education, and the guidance needed to reverse the tide of these chronic illness and turn it into a sweeping tide of chronic health instead.

To show those in both our local community and around the world that while medications and surgical procedures may slow the progression of many of these chronic illnesses and delay the inevitable…

Healthy food, exercise and movement, quality sleep, and self care and relaxation are the most potent, most affordable, and most enjoyable forms of medicine available.

Chances are that regardless of your level of fitness or whether you have a current diagnosis for chronic illness or not…it’s very likely that you are very close to someone who needs help.

The Chronic Health Club is where we all come together to fight the fight and create the lifestyle changes we all need as a community…together.
